We would like to thank Uwayesu Justus, a high school student from Rwanda who is studying to become a doctor for coming to speak to our school. Ten years ago, Uwayesu was living among piles of garbage in Rwanda’s capital city of Kigali. This was an exceptional opportunity to learn about life in Rwanda and the hope that rises from the strife.

Everyone can contribute to the movement to stop the crisis in Darfur, especially young people. We have the power to prevent the next genocide by fighting to end this one. Now is the time to prove that our generation stands for human rights and global solidarity. That’s why we started We Are Darfur, the student coalition for peace and justice in Sudan.
